Police told the Hour that 32-year-old Lyndsey Phillips was involved in an accident at the intersection of Woodward Avenue and Meadow Street just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. She had rear ended another car, causing injury to the other driver, according to the Hour.
After the crash, police reported that Phillips fled from her car and into a nearby store, where she was found bleeding and sitting on the floor, according to the Hour. When officers arrived, she grabbed a water bottle and ran outside, according to the Hour. An officer confronted her, and police said that she hit the officer in the face, the Hour reported.
At that point Phillips was brought to the ground and handcuffed, according to the Hour. She was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where she kicked the same officer again, the Hour reported.
Phillips failed a field sobriety test, and was arrested on a number of charges, including driving under the influence, assault on an officer, and evading responsibility, according to the Hour.
